Grange Hall Rental

If you are interested in renting the Lookingglass Grange Hall for an Event, please contact Candy at 541-643-3826. The price is $70.00 per day for non-members and $35.00 for members. This includes use of the kitchen. Rental of the kitchen only is $25.00. Local community groups should contact Candy about special arrangements. We also have a Meeting Room available for rent, which has a large table with 8 comfortable chairs.

10 am– Pie Making Class with Connie

Bring a pie pan and your desired filling (other tools optional but encouraged:
rolling pin, etc). We’ll walk you through whipping together a crust and getting that pie ready to bake. Then you can bake it at home or at the grange and then bring it back and get feedback at the pie social.

7 pm– Contest and Social

Social-Bring your homemade pie to compete in the sweet or the savory categories, meet your neighbors, and enjoy some pie.  Then we’ll vote on the best pie of the valley.

Breakfast at the School

The Lookingglass School will be serving biscuits and gravy starting at 9:00 AM and ending around 11:00 AM.  Anyone willing to help the school with projects is very welcome.  Power drills and weed wackers are needed.

Line up starts at 11:00 AM at the electric substation.  Parade starts at noon.  Questions can be directed to Dixie Williams at 541-679-2323.

Barbecue and Ice Cream

The Fire Department will be selling Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Beans, Potato Salad, and Ice Cream after the parade.  Anyone willing to help please call Steve Rhodes at 541-679-4747.

Entertainment

Lauren James has been performing professionally in the Northwest since the age of 17. As an accomplished pianist and singer, she has entertained audiences in many venues, including Carnegie Hall (as soloist), and she also is a music teacher and musical director.  She co-hosted the morning show on a radio station in Roseburg, her hometown. She has co-produced shows, including The Greatest Generation — A Musical Tribute and In the Days of Teddy Roosevelt.

Cake Raffle

Free cake!!!  We will be handing out tickets for the cake raffle all over the place the day of the parade.  Starting between 12:30 and 1:00 PM we will pick winners every 5 to 10 minutes until the cakes are gone.  Anyone willing to bring a cake please contact Anne Smith at 541-420-5075.

Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 5:30pm, there will be a Community Gathering for food and a panel presentation.  The Lookingglass Grange will provide pizza and refreshments.  The panel will have representatives from the Lookingglass Rural Fire District, the Lookingglass Olalla Water Control District, the Lookingglass Cemetery, and the Lookingglass Grange.

October 3, 2015 from 9am until 2pm, the Lookingglass Grange will be hosting a Community Yard Sale . There still are spaces available for sellers. A 10-foot space indoors or outdoors costs $5.

Sunday, April 12th, 1pmWork Party– The Lookingglass Grange will be having a Work Party on April 12, 2015 at 1pm.  Volunteers are needed to help clean floors, kitchen, and outdoor grounds, as well as clearing out old items from the basement and children’s room.
